Amazon recognises Efret as a pioneer of European transport solutions
As a trusted Amazon partner since 2012, Efret has earned a reputation for delivering consistently excellent service to support the e-commerce giant’s vital European logistics network.
To streamline their complex transport operations, Amazon have developed their own innovative Relay system which offers a wide variety of programmes to support carriers, from spot work to long-term contracts, catering to different business requirements and vehicle types.
One prominent example is Amazon Relay’s ‘Light Weight’ programme, implemented in 2017, to specifically cater for 7.5-tonne trucks. This allows carriers access to dedicated opportunities that align with their individual capacities and commercial objectives.
Efret has an extensive fleet of 7.5-tonne trucks and this offers Amazon the ultimate in flexibility as they are not restricted by Europe’s weekend heavy goods vehicle driving bans.
Clara Bascou, Amazon’s carrier manager highlighted in a recent article:
“As the industry continues to evolve, our collaboration with Efret is a testament to the power of adaptability, innovation, and the drive to achieve more. We’re proud to spotlight our collaboration with Efret, a leader in transportation solutions across the UK and France.
Over our 12+ year partnership, Efret has shown an exceptional commitment to operational excellence and innovation. Their dedication to Amazon’s Light Weight programme, launched in 2017, helped open doors to new opportunities and strengthened our work together.”
Efret’s pioneering approach sparked increased collaboration with Amazon Relay. In turn, this contributed to Efret’s overall growth and, during retail peak seasons, this pays dividends for both parties.
Efret CEO, Alain Jestin, comments:
“Before the advent of Amazon Relay, Efret's scheduling and planning relied heavily on manual processes, often bogged down by bulky Excel spreadsheets. This slowed operations and left room for errors and inefficiencies. Relay was a game changer. The system streamlined communication into a single portal, reducing admin hours, cutting down human error, and mitigating the risks of delays.”
Today, Efret operates an impressive fleet of 500+ vans and 220+ 7.5-tonne trucks, and the company is continuously expanding. While Efret typically manages 200 loads during non-peak periods, they can scale up by 30% at peak times, demonstrating their remarkable adaptability and operational capacity.
This ability to scale up and meet surging demand during high-volume seasons has been a key driver behind Efret’s consistent growth. The relationship with Amazon Relay is a dynamic collaboration built on mutual trust, shared goals, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
CEO Alain Jestin adds:
“We are extremely proud to have worked on the Amazon Relay account and played our part in nurturing a mutually beneficial relationship over many years. One of the most rewarding aspects has been witnessing the Relay team’s commitment to innovation and customer service. This has been brought to life by the implementation of the Relay system that has transformed communication and efficiency for us both. I look forward to many more years of collaboration as we make further progress together.”
Clara Bascou, Amazon’s carrier manager concludes:
“As Efret continues to grow alongside Amazon Relay, their focus remains firmly on driving efficiency and customer satisfaction. Their continuous pursuit for innovative solutions has positioned them as a critical player in the transportation sector, one that is capable of meeting the evolving demands of the market. In a field which is rapidly changing, Efret’s commitment to innovation, adaptability, and operational excellence ensures they will remain a cornerstone of the industry for years to come.”
