What is Road Freight?
Road Freight is the transport of goods by road between two places (a place of loading and a place of unloading).
In some instances, road freight may be the only way mode of transportation to or from locations where another mode of transports is not available. In other instances it is purely the most efficient form of transportation to ensure goods are delivered safely and on time.
From smaller vans to Mega Trailers, efficient road freight needs to incorporate selecting the right vehicle, at the right time, at the right cost to meet the specific transportation requirements.
In addition to transportation via ships or ferries and trains, road freight is part of intermodal transport.
Road freight can be categorised as LTL and FTL.
